Grooming
It’s been our pleasure to be grooming dogs, cats, guinea pigs, ferrets, etc., at this location for the past 9 years. We’ve developed a close relationship with many of the local animal loving community and there’s a good chance you heard about us from one of them.
Our grooming philosophy is simple- to consider your lifestyle and your desires and to provide a grooming program that is both functional and attractive while keeping the pets well-being as top priority. We are not a big, corporate operation and value developing relationships with our clients, as well as their owners. There’s nothing more satisfying then seeing a dog that’s happy to come through our doors.
We use only the finest shampoos and conditioners. Our basic shampoos are all natural and organic and we offer the Protein™ (hypo-allergenic and tearless), Oats Fur Coats™ (oatmeal), Black Star White™ (whitening/blackening), Filthy Animal™ (for the problem smelling pet), or Cocoa Tar™ (medicated tar) at no extra cost. We also offer the Isle of Dogs™ System for those times you may want to treat yourself, and your dog, to the best.
Please see the Gallery for some before/after shots as well as some just plain happy, beautiful after shots.
NEW!!! Learn to groom your own Dog or Cat
Would you like to learn to groom your dog/cat like a professional? Think it might be something you’d like to do with your puppy or kitten? Or want to take care of your senior pet in the comfort of your own home? Don is now offering private lessons. All necessary equipment and materials will be provided along with guidance from an experienced groomer. Learn how to clip or grind nails, clean and/or pluck ears, give a good bath, express anal glands, and give a haircut that would rival any experts. If you think this sounds like something for you, call Don at Ruff Cuts. Please leave a message with your name and number, if you get the voice mail.

We’re sure you’ll love the scent and how long it keeps your dog smelling fresh and clean. It costs a bit extra, but the clients that have tried it keep coming back for more.
The system is a three step process.
- A shampooing using one of three different deep-cleansing shampoos designed specifically for your dogs particular coat.
- A deep conditioning treatment with one of three different conditioners, again, designed specifically to enhance the desired results for your dogs particular coat.
- A final conditioning spray to finish off the groom and leave your dog with that wonderful, lasting scent that you only get from using Isle of Dogs™.

Policies
The way it works….
- Call 610-630-1121, Tuesday 12pm-8pm and Wednesday through Saturday 9am-5pm, and ask for Don to set up an appointment. Only Don schedules grooming appointments.
- Drop off you pet on or a little before the scheduled appointment time.
- Verify that we have your correct phone numbers. We ask for 3-4 hours; sometimes it’s more, sometimes it’s less.
- We call you when your pet is finished. We try all numbers (and leave messages at all of them) and stop when we either run out of numbers or we talk with a person. The grooming is done in full view of the front lobby. If you come in before your pet is finished, there is a good chance that he/she will get too excited for us to finish the groom.
- Pet gets picked up in a timely manner.
New Policy!!!!
Because of the increased occurance of cell phone use, it has become neccessary to implement a phone call policy.
- Call to Ruff Cuts to see if pet is done, before we call -$3 charge
- Call to Ruff Cuts to find out when pet will be done-$3 charge
- Call to Ruff Cuts to ask if we called-$3 charge
- Call to Ruff Cuts because we called and you didn’t check your messages-$3 charge
- Call to Ruff Cuts because you got no message because your voice mailbox is full- $3 charge
Grooming is a hands-on occupation. Unneccessary phone calls take time and that time needs to be accounted for. If you make those phone calls, you will be charged for them.
Fleas
If your pet comes in with fleas, we will need to discuss the most efficient way to address the problem.
Late for an appointment
If you are 15 minutes late, or more, for an appointment, it is likely that we will need to reschedule the appointment.
Cancellations
Please call to cancel an appointment as soon as you realize you cannot make it. Cancellations are accepted up to, and including, the morning of the scheduled appointment.
No Shows
If you scheduled an appointment and did not show up for your appointment, without notifying us, you will need to use a credit card to pay for the missed appointment before we schedule you again. We would call you if we had to reschedule your appointment. Please show us the same courtesy.
